Jeanne began her professional career as a college administrator, specializing in student life and adult education. She then created Crane Associates, Inc., a NYS woman-owned business offering training and consulting services. She worked with a variety of both public and private sector clients: From large state, national governmental agencies to start-up businesses and Fortune 500 companies. She worked with people at all levels of the organization from at-risk teens to labor-management committees; individual contributors, teams; managers and executives. After 25 years, she moved the emphasis of her practice to work with Unitarian Universalist congregations and spent 2 years on the UUA- district staff. She recently began Crane Coaching and Consulting and returned to a wider practice.
Jeanne has a B.A. in History from the University of Rochester, B.A. and an Ed. M., in Administration and Supervision from Boston University with Internships in adult education with Malcolm Knowles; Human Relations Training with Ken Benne: group identity training (now diversity training) with Max Birnbaum. This course work and program of study is equivalent to what is now known as Organizational Behavior/ Organizational Development. She has taken on numerous adjunct faculty assignments including Cornell University’s NYS School of Industrial and Labor Relations “Train the Trainer program” and teaching organizational behavior for Riga Business Institute, MBA Program, Riga, Latvia.
Her present area of emphasis is coaching individuals, congregations, not-for-profits and service organizations who are striving to maximize core progressive values as they create and implement transitions, growth plans, build learning organizations and put into practice shared leadership principles.
